Product of Experience

Over the course of running a business, school, work - life - I've come to know many clients & coworkers, many I'm lucky enough to call friends. For some strange reason people seem to talk to me. Not the "hey, how was your day" conversation but more like the "when I was five..." conversation. I've learned about heartache, pain, chronic illness, abuse, and worse. The kicker is that many of the stories could have been mine.

I've tried to use my own experiences to ease the hurt of others and help them see joy, but over & over I get asked the same question: "How did you survive?"

Many different factors come together to help build a person, not the least are their experiences. You also have what you do with them and how you allow them to shape you.

I knew a very wise woman once - my mother. There was one thing (well, there were more, but let's start with these, shall we?) that she would always remind me:

  • "You are a product of your experiences. If you are happy with the person that you have become then you should never regret, nor wish to change, any of those experiences because without them you would be a different person."
